Lasha Shanidze
Chairman & Chief Executive Officer
Lasha Shanidze is the founder and CEO of Millennium Capital Group, bringing over two decades of experience in originating, structuring, and managing strategic investments across infrastructure, energy, real estate, and emerging markets.
He received academic training at Clark, Oxford, and Stanford, with a focus on government, international law, and business management.
He previously served as founding CEO of RUGE Capital, a private investment platform focused on post-Soviet market opportunities, and earlier as founding CEO of the $400 million Millennium Challenge Georgia Fund (MCG), a U.S. Millennium Challenge Corporation initiative that drove large-scale energy and transport infrastructure development across the Caucasus.
Lasha has led over $700 million in structured transactions spanning commodities, real assets, hospitality, and technology. His expertise lies in bridging physical commodity flows with capital markets — with a focus on off-take agreements, prepayment frameworks, and ESG-integrated monetization strategies.
He is recognized for his ability to navigate the intersection of investment, diplomacy, and international affairs, having led multi-stakeholder initiatives involving sovereign sponsors, DFIs, and institutional capital across Eurasia. In parallel, he has built initiatives at the frontier of structured finance, data intelligence, and financial technology — applying systems thinking to codify institutional-grade transaction logic at scale.
Outside of work, Lasha is an avid outdoorsman, a supporter of philanthropic initiatives focused on education, culture, and human rights, and an advocate for principled leadership in emerging markets.
